Books We Read
There are probably a billion children’s books in the world, maybe more. Out of that massive amount of illustrated stories there are only so many that are really great, and that’s very subjective. We have a lot of books that I love, others that I think are not interesting and a bunch that are ok. Here are a few of our favorites.
Knuffle Bunny 2 Pack: Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale; Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity
Written about a little girl who lives in Brooklyn and illustrated with a combination of black and white photography and cartoon illustration.
A Ball for Daisy
I was so fascinated when I found this book for the girls, it has no words, only watercolor illustrations. I love the possibilities of the imagination that this book promotes.
About a bear who has lot her hat. Bear speaks to several different animals in her search, I like to do different voices for each animal while I am reading. There are also lots of Pleases and thank yous in this story.
I read to the girls three or four times a day, In the morning when they first wake up while they are drinking their milk, then when I return from work I’ll read to them while they eat dinner, and again after their bath while they drink their milk and sometimes one more before they go to bed. They don’t like to sit still so the longer (fancier) books are read while they are eating in their high chairs. Short board books are the popular choice in the morning and before bed. And of course their nanny ready to them all through out the day.
